Day 28 - Bibione, Italian coast.

Today was planned as our shortest traveling day (just over 100 miles and about 2 hours) but we didn't plan on doing 30miles in just 3 hours as we went from Croatia to Slovenia to Italy. An amazingly busy stretch of single carriage way (full of mostly caravans and motorhomes!) with 'long delay' traffic lights at the end causing all the tailbacks, the subsequent bush fire on the edge of the motorway (complete with fire fighting helicopters) didn't help either! So by the time we got to the site and unpacked it was nearly 6pm but we took the girls down to the beach, about 250m away, and as you can see Eloise enjoyed letting off steam. A combination of being released from the 5 hr car journey and the first sandy beach of the trip caused her to giggle constantly for about 40 mins.

Olivia's day was made with a trip to the children's 'happy' disco which turned out to be a stage show (only thing missing was the red coats and unfortunately repeated every other night), of course, she loved it.

This campsite is really quiet, ideally located on the beach and italian so very family focused - I think its going to be a great week. The beach is an amazing stretch of sandy coast line (a bit like St Andrews west sands - but a whole lot warmer) with a calm shallow and very warm sea, perfect for the girls. In the very far distance you can see the roof tops of Venice. Lovely.

  3. That last day in Croatia looked great and the beach looks amazing. Who's that bronzed greek god playing with Olivia.
Not such a good start for Italy with 5 hr travel but it obviously a good place now you are there. We can just imagine Eloise running around letting off steam and giggling away, and it couldn't have been a better evening for Olivia. We are still very envious, wish we were there. Hugs and kisses for the girls. Love Mum and Dad xxxx

  5. I have a friend who might like Baz, name- Mervin Mint. Lives in pot on patio. Restricted life, not as wild as Baz, bit of a home bird really. May put him in front garden to give him a new outlook on life!! x
