One month down.

With 1 month down and only just over 3 weeks left time to reflect...
Favourite person seen: The travelling preacher man and his wife going down the Danube in a 2-man kayak who gave a morning service complete with banjo in Regensberg campsite.
Least favourite person: The aged slovenian man who 'helped' Stu reverse the van onto the croatian pitch, he did it by leaning in the window and grabbing the steering wheel.
Most eccentric Brits: The 50 somethings travelling around europe in a brand new Porsche turbo, reliving their backpack days so staying in a 2 man tent amongst the students.
Best city: Budapest
This will be continued on the last blog entry of holiday with many more questions.

Today was a beach day for all the family, including Baz. Baz would like to thank the readers for the offer of friendship from Marvin Mint but he thinks he sounds too menthol for his liking, although if the Blake's have any suitable friends he is more than willing to travel to Las Vegas (subject to visa application).

Stu's 1st sandcastle of the trip was completed today (picture 2 - he said he modelled it on the cathedral in Barcelona but drew inspiration from the Summer Palace in Vienna and the old town square in Prague, I say he just copied my Dad's.)

Big fights over the pink blow up ring (not muslim) today so Stu's off in the morning with Eloise and her grandparent pennies to by a new one! He went shopping this morning and was delighted with a market he found, all fresh produce with local mozzerella's and hams (wine here comes direct from barrells in shops and costs around E2 / litre - we are considering having a glass with lunch tomorrow...

  1. Looks as if everyone is having fun, sandcastle not bad, could do better (sounds like someones school report). Dad said he knows someone who knows baz, he is a real killer, his name is Herbie Side. Still wish we were there, but no chance of you wanting a couple of wrinklies with you, but we can only hope you might want some baby sitters. Can't wait to see you all. Lots of love to you all Mum, Dad, Nannie and Grandad xxxx

  3. Well, we will be taking a set of twins, Carrie Coriander and Sylvia Cilantro, with us to Vegas. So, if Baz wants to join us, make sure he gets his visa application in soon...although, with no date for departure yet, I'm sure he has plenty of time! Baz, have a great rest of your 3 weeks with your family. (You're going to many more exciting places than Vegas, so you may want to rethink that visa/Vegas thing!)

  4. Dear Baz,
Feel quite hurt that you think I am menthol. I have more of a lemon feel about me and would love to see the world, particularly with you. My life is now in the Front Garden, but Verona....I can only imagine. Together we could make a fusion of lemon Balm. Take car my herbacious friend,You must be more intersting than the runner beans that are taking over my patch. Much love Much Maligned Marvin xx
